6 Threads Growth Tactics you probably never heard about

read this if you want to grow your following fast

here’s the truth about growing on social media:

Good writing is not enough. Unfortunately, there’s much more to it.

I talk a lot about writing tactics and the importance of learning the art of Viral Online Writing.

While that’s important, it doesn’t represent the whole story.

Social Media Growth doesn’t only come with “knowing how to write” - there are also a few important tactics you have to know if you want to grow your audience.

And I had to learn this the painful way - for months I was posting in the void on my blog and X (formerly Twitter).

Why?

Because I had no clue on how to grow an audience online! I was naive thinking that “my writing is gonna find the right people”

I was wrong.

But then I started to research how to ACTUALLY grow an audience online and since then my social media growth exploded.

In recent months I grew to 30,000+ Followers across platforms

So I learned a fair bit about growing tactics online.

So today I want to share them with you…(so you don’t make the same mistakes I did)

1. Reposting

When you run out of topics or just want to write a great Thread that you know will work, repost your old Threads.

( Don't worry about the people who already saw it. 🙂)

Because the truth is:

Most will not care, will not see it, or will forget that they saw it. Reposting your old Threads that resulted in high engagement is a great way of getting new followers.

And yes, you can just copy-paste it. Most of the time, though, I rewrite it a bit just because I got better at writing Threads.

I always spot mistakes in my past writing. So I optimize my old Threads and post them again.

Just make sure to wait 3-6 weeks before you repost a Thread.

2. Use a scheduling Platform

Using a scheduling platform makes my life much easier.

I sit down one day a week and schedule all the posts for the upcoming week on Hypefury.

That way I I don’t need to be online to post. I can be travelling, be with family, take a day off etc, WITHOUT losing my consistency on the platform.

Hypefury is the only scheduling platform right now that allows you to schedule posts on Threads (at least to my understanding, correct me if I’m wrong.)

It’s the one I use and the one I always recommend to my clients.

So if you want to create a hypefury account and save yourself a lot of time and headache, you can do so here:

(this is an affiliate link, if you don’t want to use it, don’t worry, just go on google and type in “hypefury”).

3. Post Ratio

Start by writing 2-4 Threads a day, spread throughout the day. In my experience, this is the best ratio for good engagement.

You can do more if you want. The platform is still young, so it doesn't punish you too much for threading often.

But make sure to let your Threads breathe. Space them apart throughout your day.

4. Comment, repost, like

If you’re below 5000 Followers:

Make it a point to comment on others' posts 20-30 times a day.

This can be done in a 15-20 minute time slot. And please don't write things like: "Thank you, great advice, love it, etc...)." Always add to the conversation!

Share a story, give your own insight and your unique take on it.

Some of my comments get over 100 likes. Sometimes my comments did so well, that I made my own Thread out of them.

Now, who should you engage with?

  • People who comment under your posts

  • People with a high follower count

  • People you're inspired by

  • People in your niche

So don't be lazy here. Engage, be active, and take your time when commenting.

5. Networking on Instagram

Threads doesn’t have a DM function yet - but luckily it’s connected to your Instagram.

So set up your Instagram similar to your Threads account (you can literally use the same picture, same bio, and share your Threads posts with a few clicks on your Instagram timeline).

Then you can use Instagram to connect with people in the DM’s.

So whenever you like somebody's content, think somebody would be a great fit for your paid services, etc…

Follow them on Instagram, like their posts, and reach out. Tell them about a Thread they posted that you liked, ask them about their goals, or just compliment them on something unique.

And please don’t be too formal here. Talk to them like you would talk to a friend. Everyone on Threads is a human being. Treat them like that.

If you can act like a human being, you'll do very well. Especially at the start, you want to reach out to like-minded people - people who want to grow. Be friendly and become friends with them.

6. Say 1 idea in 1000 different ways

The Online Writing Game is about optimizing, refining, and recycling.

Whenever you have an idea that performed well, then use this same idea to say it in many different ways.

For example, you can:

  • Combine two similar posts that performed well

  • replace the hook but use a similar body

  • add to the existing content ( make a one Liner into a 2-3 liner)

  • shorten your post to make it more punchy

  • etc….
