- the 1 thing that keeps you from landing clients
the 1 thing that keeps you from landing clients
(not what you think)
A great offer, good content, good outreach etc…
Thats all great - but if your profile sucks nobody will take you seriously.
And more importantly - you won’t gonna get any clients.
So today I want to show you the 5 steps towards getting your profile optimized.
Nail this once and you don’t have to worry about it for months.
(You can also watch the video version here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XCRwuGDFhys&t=2s)
1. Profile Picture
Your picture has to scream professionalism.
Have a clear face picture with a smile and a clear background.
No selfies or mirror pictures. Only professional business pictures please.
In my case I went to a professional photographer.
Now I have tons of pictures I can use everywhere: On my website, Twitter, LinkedIn,…
I made the choice to invest in the pictures, but you don't have to.
Just make sure it's professional.
Again: No selfies, please.
Nobody will invest in somebody who does selfies as professional picture.
2. Your Bio
Keep your bio simple. Most important thing here is to explain your services.
Example:
“I ghostwrite for [your niche].” or: “I help {Niche} grow their brand and get more clients.”
Then you show your credentials.
So if you ghostwrite for fitness coaches you can say you’ve been in fitness for 5+ years or that you're a fitness coach yourself.
And then you share a funny anecdote.
For example me, I love BJJ so I would say “BJJ addict or BJJ fanatic”.
Don't overcomplicate this.
The most important thing is that you say what you do for people.
“I am a ghostwriter, copywriter, I build learning pages, I do designs, I make YouTube scripts,…”
3. Pinned Longform
Your pinned long form is important.
I say long form because I want you to avoid tweets.
Don't put a tweet as your pinned post.
Even though they get a lot of engagement and likes, they don’t show authority.
Your pinned long form should be:
results you got for yourself
results you got for your clients
a personal transformation
So, if you went from 0 to 500 followers in 30 days, show how you did it.
You got your clients 100 email subscribers in 30 days? show how you did it.
But if you haven’t gotten any results for yourself or your clients start with a personal transformation.
So a fitness coach could say: “I lost 15 kg in two months, here's how I did it.
Keep your banner really simple.
My Banner says: “Psychologist & Ghostwriter”.
But if you want to write more, you can say: “I help fitness coaches build an online brand and land more clients”
Choose a banner, choose a background that suits your brand, spend 10-15 minutes on Canva and you’re done.
Nothing fancy, the banner doesn't need to be overcomplicated.
What is more important is the landing page….
5. Landing Page
Your first landing page is your profile.
But you need an additional external page people can go to learn more about your services.
I always recommend Carrd.co, just because it's reliable and easy to use.
So on Card, I explain your services and embedd your futre testimonials on there.
Explain:
Who you are
who you write
what your service exactly is.
A landing page professionalism in your ghostwriting business - it’s a place where people can book calls and see your testimonials and services.
So these 5 points will take you 1-2 days, but you do this once and then you have it for at least a few months.
The last time I changed my profile was 2 months ago.
So, don't be lazy here:
Optimize your profile, follow these 5 steps and don't overcomplicate it.
And I will give Feedback to everybody who sends me their profile. Reply with “Profile” and I will get back to you. :)
And please, no selfies anymore.
P.s. I have one final 1-1 Mentoring Spot open for this month where we take your Ghostwriting Brand to $5k/Month in the next 90 days. Reply with this Email with your Name and I get back to you!
Much love,
Heythem
